The Atsiri Research Center is a research and development center focused on the study, innovation, and downstreaming of patchouli oil-based products. This center plays a role in supporting scientific development, improving the quality of essential oil products, and utilizing research findings for industrial and community needs.
The Atsiri Research Center is committed to promoting collaboration between academia, researchers, industry partners, and stakeholders in order to generate applied, competitive, and sustainable research.

Mission
- To position the ARC of Syiah Kuala University as an internationally recognized center for patchouli oil science and research.
- Developing leading research related to patchouli oils to support inclusive sustainable development.
- Mainstreaming the concept of sustainable inclusive development in the patchouli oils sector through policy advocacy by the Aceh government
- To encourage the government, private sector, and civil society organizations to implement best practices for the development of the patchouli oil industry.
- Develop an inclusive monitoring and evaluation system for sustainable development programs in the patchouli oil sector
